Boost Your Metabolism for Weight Loss.

Jan 10, 2022

Ready to boost your metabolism? Metabolism refers to the chemical reactions in your body to keep it functioning. The liver is the primary organ of metabolism. In the liver carbohydrates, lipids, and amino acids are metabolized. Often the words metabolism is used interchangeably with "resting metabolic rate", or numbers of calories burned while at rest. A higher resting metabolic rate helps you burn more calories and makes it easier to lose weight and keep it off. A high metabolism can also give you more energy and make you feel better.

Note: Since no system works alone, it is also important to have a well-functioning lymph system to transport waste products. Check out my blog for an easy lymph reset.

5 Ways to increase your metabolism:

#1: High-Intensity Interval Training HIIT

HIIT workouts generally combine short bursts of intense exercise with periods of rest or lower-intensity exercise. You’ll work harder than you do when you do a typical cardio workout. But you’ll do it in spurts of 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Then you recover for about the same amount of time or longer with lower intensity. This type of training has been shown to help with weight loss, increase muscle mass, and boost your metabolism. Bonus: Your body will burn calories for about 2 hours after you exercise.

 #2: Eat More Protein-Rich Food

Certain foods such as protein-rich food may help increase the metabolic rate. Consuming them regularly may help you lose weight and keep it off in the long term. Be aware that for losing weight the total calorie intake and healthy food choices are key.

#3: Avoid Prolonged Sitting

When changes are happening and I start feeling disappointed or frustrated, I focus on the parts that did work out. Feeling grateful at the moment shifts my mood and keeps my mind relaxed.

#4 Get Good Quality And Quantity Of Sleep

Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night and maintain a regular sleep schedule so that your body and brain can recover and function on an optimal level.

#5 Drink More Water

Drinking more water may also briefly raise your metabolism. Research points to cold water as a booster to the metabolism because of the energy expenditure needed to heat it to body temperature.
