Threat Bucket Model The Threat Bucket Model is a representation of pain as an undesirable output of an over threatened nervous system. All types of stressors both physiological and psychological have an accumulative effect on our nervous system. Sub-optimal performance in any of these areas are almost always interpreted as threats. When stress/threats fill the bucket high enough to reach the threshold spout we can get a pain output or any other unwanted output that can lead to a decline in health and performance.
